| When I run the cron, I see errors |

cron.php is not designed to be run manually. The link in the admin section is for you to test the cron once or twice. The cron must be run via cron job. Those errors you see are caused by some sites being unavailable or have temporary problems. Running a cron job will ignore those errors             |
